DESCRIPTION:<h4><strong>The Diamantina Health Partners Annual Forum is an o
 pportunity for clinicians\, researchers\, educators\, managers\, policy ma
 kers and community representatives to meet and discuss the advances being 
 made through collaborative practice to improve health outcomes. The forum\
 , which is held annually in May\, presents a unique platform for the estab
 lishment of trans-disciplinary partnerships between researchers\, educator
 s and health professionals.</strong></h4>\n<p>The 2014 Diamanatina Health 
 Partners Annual Forum will be held 30 April – 2 May 2014</p>\n<h2>Keynote

 /p>\n<p><b>Victor M. Montori\, MD\, MSc<br />\nDirector\, Healthcare Deliv
 ery Research Program and Knowledge and Encounter Research Unit\, Mayo Clin
 ic  </b></p>\n<p>Dr. Montori is a professor of medicine at <a title='Mayo 
 Clinic Rochester' href='http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester/'>Mayo Clinic 
 Rochester</a>. He serves as a physician consultant in the Division of Endo
 crinology\, Diabetes\, Metabolism and Nutrition\, and as director of the H
 ealthcare Delivery Research Program.  He has joint appointments in the Div
 ision of Healthcare Policy and Research at Mayo and the Department of Clin
 ical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University in Canada.</p>
 \n<p>Dr. Montori is an internationally-recognised researcher focusing on u
 nderstanding and improving the process by which clinicians and patients us
 e knowledge to make better decisions and improve patient outcomes. He is c
 urrently the lead investigator of the Knowledge and Encounter Research (KE
 R) Unit\, and previously was the co-director of the NIH-funded Translating
  Comparative Effectiveness Research (TRACER) Unit of the Mayo Center for T
 ranslational Science Activities. He has authored over 300 research reports
  published in top medical journals.</p>\n<p>Dr. Montori received the Excel
 lence in Teaching Award at Mayo Medical School for his work as both a teac
 her and a mentor. He serves on the editorial boards of prestigious medical
  journals\, including Annals of Internal Medicine\, has delivered keynote 
 presentations at major academic institutions worldwide\, and has chaired a
  special panel of the National Institutes of Health focused on translating
  diabetes research into practice.  He is a member of the expert panel of t
 he AHRQ Innovations Exchange.</p>\n<p>Dr. Montori received his MD degree f
 rom the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Peru. He completed his res
 idency training and became chief resident in the Department of Internal Me
 dicine at Mayo Clinic. He earned his MSc degree in biomedical research at 
 Mayo Graduate School and completed a fellowship in endocrinology at Mayo. 
 Dr. Montori also completed a research fellowship in the Department of Clin
 ical Epidemiology at McMaster University in Canada.</p>
